Harris repeats conference accolade

Utah State’s Nate Harris earned his second-straight Big West Player of the Week award, setting career highs in back-to-back games and leading the Aggies to a 2-0 road trip.

Harris, a 6-foot-8 forward, averaged 23.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 0.5 blocks and 1.0 steals per game as the Aggies toppled Cal State Fullerton (57-49) and UC Riverside (62-58).

For the week Harris made 76.0 percent (19 of 25) of his shots from the field and 72.7 percent (8-for-11) from the free-throw line.

Quinn’s effort vs. UI helps her win conference honor

Cal State Fullerton senior guard Tamara Quinn was named Big West women’s basketball Player of the Week. With the Titans on the short end of a 68-67 game, Quinn knifed through the Utah State defense with three seconds left to give CSF the one-point victory.

The senior guard once again came through in the clutch two days later, helping Cal State Fullerton give UI its first home loss of the season, 68-65. Quinn scored 22 points against the Vandals on 9 of 16 shooting, including seven assists and four steals.
